Hush, which recently opened in a space that has been turned over a lot, is a refreshing addition to the Entertainment District's restaurant row. For a girl's night out, we were on our way to Second City and wanted to dine somewhere different in the area.
The space is somewhere between a cocktail lounge and restaurant (if you make a reservation, ask to sit in the plush booths at the back, like we did). The lounge-y music is a bit cheesy, but not too distracting. Our waitress was really bubbly and talkative and fit right in with our group of girlfriends. It was also nice that she had absolutely no problem with splitting up our bill, as well as splitting the shared appetizer between the four of us. Hush's eclectic and moderately priced menu is a nice change when you're looking for a pre-show restaurant and you're sick of Kit Kat and Hey Lucy. One negative thing though is that some portion sizes (my friend's Siam red curry bowl for $18.50 for example) are a little on the small side.

I got the sundried tomato mayo on the side, a move I highly recommend seeing as how it was enough sauce to drown out every other flavour on the sandwich. It was messy but flavourful.
Even the lobster dishes on the menu were well-priced, considering they came with big chunks of lobster at $16 for the lobster grilled cheese and $14 for Baja lobster tacos. Lobster on the tacos was cold, but would have been better warm, the grilled cheese was uber-rich and the lobster was slightly over powered by brie (it also had mozzarella and cheddar) and served with a cocktail sauce for dipping.
