Scallop linguine with creamy pesto sauce

I don't know how much explaining this awesome recipe I made up needs beyond the fact that we had scallops, we had pasta and the rest miraculously came together from ingredients on hand. This is such a rich comforting way to warm up a dreary, drizzly March night.

Six ingredient sandwich game ...what's your best combo?

Get inspired by the cheese wall at the Loblaws at Maple Leaf Gardens

The other day Joe and I went to the amazing Loblaws at Maple Leaf Gardens in search of the perfect sandwich. I think we came up with it... it was too good! This has inspired to set down a challenge, I'm asking for your best six ingredient sammy recipes (think: a bread base, a meat, a cheese, a spread

and two veggies, or any variation thereof).

Not going to bias you readers with a delicious looking picture, but I'll tell you the ingredients:

1. Multigrain ciabatta

2. Prosciutto

3. Jarlsberg cheese

4. Oil-packed sun dried tomatoes

5. Arugula 

6. Spicy mayo

Assemble sandwich and grill.

The best of 2012 lists begin...

Here you have it, the start of the best restaurants of 2012 lists with Post City reviewer Joanne Kates top 100 in Toronto.

Her number one restaurant is chichi Scaramouche in Yorkville --- which she also ranked first last year. However, her number two and three are quite big surprises as neither even made her top 100 last year. Number two is artsy East Coast comfort food hot spot Acadia, also one of my faves. And number three, another East Coast comfort food joint (starting to sense a theme here) Hopgood's Foodliner --- a resto I've been dying to try and just so happen to have a reso at tonight!
